Fooooood....

Day 9 – A photo of the item you last purchased.

This may be come as quite a shock for most of you, especially those who know my spending habbits and love for shopping, but I have made hardly any purchases this past month!

Quick side note... CAN YOU BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN HERE OVER A MONTH?!?!? Cause I sure can't!

Anyways back to shopping. I have gone to the mall a couple times, but everything here is SO expensive. Part of the reason is becaue we are living in an 'upper class' neighborhood, where most people have some money. The other reason things are expensive is becaue the American Dollar is so weak and unlike the American economy, the Chillean economy is thriving. Exchange rates are not so fun. As of right now the exchange rate is 1 U.S. dollar = 491.883915 Chilean pesos. It is up a little from when I first arrived (1=465) but it is still not great.

Another reason I haven't bought much is because I have no room for anything extra! I am sharing a closet with jennie that is about 3 feet across.... it is TINY! I have never even had a closet this small for only myself.

So... the last thing that I bought was... food. I know boring. I was suppose to make the boys lunch and didn't know what to cook, so I took them to the grocery store hoping to find something easy there. Alas, I found nothing, so we headed home with the few staples that we are always running low on. I don't have a picture of it so you will just have to use your imagination. I did however buy a little bag of gummy candies for us to all share.

They are called Frugeles. It is pronounced FRU-HEL-E but Josh likes to call them FRUGGLES(like muggles with an f)
They are pretty good, I guess.
Day 10 – A photo of our favorite place to eat.
Ahhhhhhhhhh..... this would be todays post, considering I went to bed last night and woke up this morning with the strongest craving for Cafe Rio!

Pork Salad. Extra Meat. Pinto Beans. Shreaded Lettus. No Cillantro. House Dressing. and a DIET COKE!

Obviously I also need Melissa to be here to share it with me, because I could never finish all that food by myself!

My mom promissed me that we could find a way to make this ourselves soon. A few people have already sent me recipes via facebook, but if any of you know of a good one you would like me to try, feel free to send it my way!

Also I need to find a REAL Diet Coke to go with my salad. All they have down here is Coca-Cola Light... which tastes like Coke Zero(BLECK). I need my real Diet Coke.

Wow... I sound like a fat kid. Ha.

Ok, so I think you know me.... Maybe... haha. I am Morgan Hanssen's friend, Paige. ANYWHO... my sister (Kim Ponczoch) told me you guys are in her ward down there! So fun :) I LOVE Chile and am jealous you are there. BUT... the point of me posting is my sister had the same issue with missing Cafe Rio.... and she has a recipe that is pretty darn close! (At least it helped with my craving when I lived with her.) Anywho... you should ask her about it :)

Of course I know you! I talked to your sister about you this past sunday! Ha. I will have to get the recipe from her ASAP! Did you live with her down here?

Haha too funny. Yeah I lived down there for 2 months... one month with her, and one month 4 hours south of her where I volunteered at an orphanage. I loved every second of it. How long are you and your family down there for?
